GU ute air con removal

Hi all as usual I need HELP,
I need to remove the Air con unit from the cab . I have an issue with the flaps inside not working .
It looks to be a Bugger of a job . I also need to remove the switch control I have it free but cant get it out !
This is giving the s..ts ! I can see a bent cable . and the flaps appear to be a bit stiff .
Please throw me a get out of Jail card Anyone .....

It is the first thing installed within the cab, so it is a bugger of a job..... when I had a problem with an older vehicle - my ac bloke didn't want to have a bar of it, and I swore to never do it again ....

The ac evaporator unit sits inside the main heater box housing, and also connects into the engine bay ... the main housing can be painful to get into, and usually impossible to remove the whole housing without disconnection of the evaporator. I was able to disassemble mine in an older vehicle to replace the evaporator, as they have metal clips or screws holding the housing together.You can usually slip the heater core out still connected with a bit of mucking about.
