Hey Guys,

What is this thing?!
I found it in a tool box of mine.
Obviously I purchased it while ago, but no recollection of it.
It looks like a diesel compression tester, but no valve in it to release the pressure when done.
It is no use as a typical compression tester 'cos it's got no valve in it hold the air pressure.

Any thoughts?

Obviously I bought it for a reason that I can't remember now(obviously? :icon_bonk:).
It goes up to 500psi which indicates a diesel engine, me thinks.

Interesting. The gauge goes upto 500psi, but the hose says maximum pressure up to 300psi.

Try it on a pot and see if it works

Yeah, I did.
It doesn't do anything 'cos there's no valve. I opened up the neck and see if I can squeeze in a normal schrader valve, but no good.
There's an idea in the back of my head why I got it but it's been years and I've forgotten it. :icon_bonk:

There is no difference between a diesel compression tester and petrol one, other than the higher compression rating on a diesel one, right?

Looking at the tester and adapters in the kit, it does look like a diesel compression tester?!!

AFAIK, a compression tester must have a release valve, but this one doesn't.
