Hi guys, only owned a 4.8 for a couple of months now and noticed When in low range the acceleration is really jerky/jumpy, not just a little bit either it is quite severe. it feels like someone learning to drive manual for the first time.
Is this normal? Or is there any way of fixing it?
No engine mods, an auto and has 33's muddies at the moment.
Cheers

CheersYou'll have more torque in low range and when I 1st low if your not smooth on the pedal it will get a bit jumpy. Especially when there is no load on the car, Eg traveling on a flat section.

It does it even when doing hill climbs, I try to be as smooth as possible on the throttle and it just bunny hops all the way through l, even tried low 2nd and the same thing.
I understand petrol 4bys arnt as smooth, but this is quite violent and uncomfortable.
I never had this issue with my gq tb42 being a petrol 4by

The 4.8's are drive by wire aren't they?
Might be the Accelerator Pack, the ZD30CRD's will do the same if the pedal sensors are dirty/worn
Not uncommon for CRD owners to put some sponge under the pedal or jam their foot against the kick panel to 'damp' down the human input

Yeah not real sure bud. I know it can happen in mine when in low range but I found it was my right foot bouncing on the accelerater pedal when going over the rough stuff. And when in low range the issue is amplified....
Having said that. It's possible it may be something like the air flow meter.

crd owners are begging for power,,,i need to put a hole in the floor so my pedal goes further..
do the 4.8 have a throttle control..like a choke but not a choke..i do remember readingh something yrs ago regarding high country climbing and a steady throttle...and the talk about throttle control..like a choke but not a choke..idle up maybe.....
