Hi guys
Was wondering, My ute has the fuel tank mounted behind the rear axle, in between the chassis rails. Is this where it was mounted from the factory?
I am starting to want for more departure angle and clearance at the rear. How hard would it be to relocate the tank to behind the cab?
Cheers

Merry Christmas Jack mate!
I’ve run a couple of 99<>01 utes up fairly descent tracks without tank issues to date. Them vintages were well/are tucked up for good angles IMHO :-)

Cheers Jack, pic below of my current 1999 ute GU departure angle with stock tank/stock bash plate. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/147.jpg I’m guessing one could completely remove this ‘main’ tank if truly needed and plumb all lines/electrics up to the stock 80L ‘sub’ tank under/behind our driving arses. I do personally like having 160L+ for my needs and would honestly only do this for a full comp car I guess.
You may have a GQ ute too, so please disregard this ramble if so mate :-) ?

That photo looks almost exactly the same as under the back of my GQ, so they're obviously identical...

Just stopped into my bro’s place and quickly checked out his GQ work ute mate. Does look very similar angle I’d say too at a glance! http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/152.jpgForgot that this thing also has a whopping custom say 150L+ sub tank behind the cab up high on the tray underside that might be of interest for you Jack mate. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/153.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/154.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/155.jpg

FWIW, the tank being so high up under, the filler neck has needed to be squeezed between tray and cab on say a 45 degree flow angle. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/156.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/12/157.jpg

Strewth ... 150 litres...now THAT is what I call an Aux Tank.

Next step up would be a 1,000 litre IBC on the Tray
