Hi all, what are my options to replace the stock intercooler on my 2012 GU. I have read that the stock ones are prone to leak??

Cheers all.

If Its leaky its probably leaking they all done so dont worry too muck. You only have a 3 ltr
so a STD one tigged welded will give you about a 33% increase in size, Cant see the point putting
one of the larger one into a 3 litre it could be money spent elswhere.Lets say an E-Locker
Diesel Smart make a great tigged IC.. Mines been in for 4/5 yearswith out any hiccup.
Cosy wont break the bank at arond $400 and tested to 60psi more that yuo,ll ever need
and a 3 year warranty I believe ,
so thats where my money would go
Combine that with a 2.75" Beaudesert sysrem and a high flow cat and you be pulling good power

Well this has been interesting. Three phone calls to diesel smart left a message and return number in all three. Sent a email. Nothing. No return email no call back. Mental note to self. Never try to do business with diesel smart again. So I order a kit thru hp diesel. I did that 8 days ago with a garantee that it will be in my hands in 8 to 10 working days. Today is 8 working days. Thought I would call and see how things are progressing. Nope. MAYBE late next week. I reckon I know we all like to import from over seas. Australian businesses are crap. They tell you what they think you want to hear, take your money, then forget you ever existed.

There, I have vented. I feel better..... not.

Have you had a look at their website or maybe FB page ? Are they open ?
They could still be closed for Xmas holidays .
I know a lot of businesses in our industrial area are still shut and slowly opening week by week.

I know it sucks, but not many things get done in a jury during this period..

I thought that too. But if I owned a business and went away on holidays I would change my phone message to tell my customers what my movements were. No such change to diesel smarts phone message. Hp diesel, I just want them to do what they said they would.

I understand the frustration mate. But maybe don't judge them by that. They are a great bit of intercooler kit.

Yeah, I gues you are rite. But I have had to cancel some high country trips while down here. And I have to drive home to Alice soon. Like I said, I just want them to do what they said they would do before they got my money. Very frustrated.

Finally got the intercooler on Monday morning. Had it installed an hour later. What a difference!!! Really noticing the power increase and the fuel consumption decrease. Very happy I did this after all.....

Really? You've got my attention. Does it make that much difference, especially to fuel consumption? Is yours manual or auto? Don't remember reading anywhere else about IC's making a difference to fuel consumption but happy to give it a go. My only concern is what adjustments I need to make if any to needle valve as it's been remapped with 3" exhaust.
