Here's a few pics of my weekend poking round the bush on my lonesome after picking up the old GQ from Millweld in Mansfield.

Got up to Lake Cobbler in the arvo then did the 4K walk up to the top of Mt Cobbler. Surprised to see a bit of snow up there. Came down the Speculation track and back to camp along the vehicle track.

Never noticed before (only been up there once before) but you can see the lake from the top. Was pretty dark and gloomy but pretty dramatic. Pics don't do it justice really.

Did the walk to the top of the falls then bush bashed down as far as you could go down the spur. Were some pretty good views but lighting as crap with too much contrast an pics look terrible in comparison.

Camp on helipad on Mt Buckland. Was going to stay the night on Mt Murray but was seasonally closed near the top. Have to revisit that one. . .

Headed across Goldie Spur track around the back of Mt Buffalo which pretty much follows the power lines through to Whitfield. Heaps of water coming off Buffalo.

Great pics Rossco. I gotta do some tracks out that way one day. Driven down Rose River Road many times to get to Bright. Love it down through the valley there.

We are very lucky to have such awesome areas so close there's a hell of a lot of bush out there, the majority of the time saw bugger all people. Came across a walker actually in the middle of no where training to do the alpine walking trail reckoned he would have done a 50k loop by the time he got back to Hotham. . . Think he was feeling it lol . . .

Shultz track sounds familiar, came up Walsh's track that was pretty cruisy. Came down Pattys Hill track, was in good condition but had some steep bits and was a pretty nice track.

I remember seeing a spot on a 4wd action dvd a while ago that greame did in the snow in his shorty GQ. They came over from Dargo via Mt Phipps then over to Mt Selwyn area. They found this awesome looking dam/lake type place with a jetty but wouldnt have a clue where it is. Have thoroughly looked through rooftop maps thought I found it near Omeo (Black Salee) but wasn't it. Hopfully find it one day looked like a wicked spot in the summer. . .
