Hey all,
Been here alittle while now, had a gu 3.0,that got written off, bought a LC105, that got written off, now have a gu 4.2 and was just wondering if they need the egr blocked and a catch can installed.
PS: both accidents were not my faulf

If its a factory Turbo intercooled 4.2, a GUIV and onwards it swill have an EGR. Block the EGR, if fitted, on any diesel motor. And yeah fit catch can for sure.

Its a 2003 turbo intercooled 4.2

Well if its got an EGR, block it.

Block that s#it mate. If you ever upgrade your IC, you'll need to remove and cap it anyway.
Also remove the EGR cooler while you're at it. Takes a small load off the cooling system.

And remove any EGR associated parts too. Theres some vacuum solenoids near the left right hand bonnet hinge I think. Also the EGR pipe itself and block it at the exhaust manifold. If your gonna remove it, remove any evidence of one being there at all.
