Hi all.

Been a long time since posting but have been on regularly keeping up to date with what everyone is doing.

This question isn't Patrol related but I'm hoping that some of you may have used this lucus synthetic oil stabilizer.

I'm going to be putting it in my R8 Clubsport solely for the reason that I won't be driving it too much and wanting to keep bearings, seals and other moving parts well lubricated with a coating of oil.

I know the guy from Autobarn well and he claims it to be good stuff. I have also done a Google search and reviews don't come back to good.

Below is a video of the little gear system that you see in the shops.

Thanks guys

i've used thier power steering stop leak worked great stopped the leak in the rack, has no noise and i tipped it in a couple years ago still not leaking.
also used morey's heavy duty oil stabiliser in gearboxes quietens whining a little but nothing like MBL 8 i tried that stuff stopped the whine.
trying xado ex 120 atm in a box now, too soon to tell if its good.

Use it in mates sprintcar motor and diff. Cut down on wear internally a fair bit. Especially considering it spends most of its life between 6000- 8500rpm

Thanks guys.

Did the oil change and took it for a 20km drive around the back streets. I didn't put it in, wasn't sure. Next time I'm here I'll drop a litre of oil and put it in.

I use it in my 4.5L patrol, auto and transfer case, i also used it in the auto gearbox behind my 500hp RB30 turbo (in a Torana), i was never a believer of anything magic in a bottle, until my old auto trans dude raved on about it.

3 times at work (car dealership), we had commodores autos VN-VR era (turbo 700s) that we traded, they would not get reverse, just free rev, add that lucas stuff ,and bam they hit reverse when selected without a second hesitation.

Have you dropped the oil after using this stuff? Has it affected the brass components (syncromesh) in the box at all?

which stuff are you asking about ? the mbl 8 kept that gearbox alive for 4 years yes it was a band aid but 4 years it ran for. still got it down stairs but havn't pulled it apart, (input shaft failed)
its based on a lead /copper i think, packs the scoring (ran it in an old engine checked the cam shaft before and after yes it works) didn't affect anything adversely(ran it for 5 years in the same engine)
also tried the g70 and morey's in the gearbox but nothing as good as the mbl for quieting the whine. if your looking to slow/stop a leak the morey's would be the pick of what i've tried.

The MBL is the one I was asking about. The whine in my gearbox is slowly getting louder. I will give it a try.

Looks like a viscosity modifier. Wonder how it effects the flow through the filter, oil cooler and turbo bearings?
