Life in the rainforest isn't necessarily what you might expect

Our latest blog post.

We have now been on Cape York (this time around) since June last year & will be here in the rainforest close to Lockhart River until after the next wet season. This is our latest Blog post.

Great read Cuppa, you certainly have to endure a lot of challenges but are rewarded some incredible experiences.
Chilli Beach is still one of my favourite places I have ever visited.

Wondering if an ‘Epilator’ could have somewhat hopefully helped Pedro Old Mate?

https://au.braun.com/en-au/female-hair-removal

I sure wish those hair plucking out/rotating torture weapons were invented back in the early 80’s when I attempted to bring home forearms carrying full of Prickly Pears [emoji530]
Damn fine tiny needle things too kept driving into my body/belly/forearms for months afterwards but thankfully not poisonous like poor Pedro [emoji22]

Good interview, Cuppa. After 10 years of calling you that, I finally know your real name. You'll have to hide in the bat cave and emerge with a different persona. :]

Well spoken Cuppa.

The time has come.`

We are now the legal owners of an OKA expedition vehicle - details later when we actually have posession of it. (Hopefully we'll be able to collect it in January).

So our Patrol & Tvan are up for sale.

Rather than create the longest post I've ever made here (& yes I know a few have been pretty long) I have created a blog post with extensive info & pics of what is a pretty unique, built for purpose combo.

It's taken a lot longer than we expected, but we are now back 'on the road', currently sweltering in SA. For anyone interested here a squiz inside (& out) of the OKA.

I’ve had a good look at this beast in the flesh and it’s bloody impressive. The engineering is next level, yeap I’m jealous.
Only criticism I have is that I didn’t get to take it for a drive, but that was my own fault.

Enjoy Cuppa & Mrs Tea - living the dream.

A new blog post fresh off the printing press.
We've only been back on the road for 6 weeks & we have come to a stand still.
But we are enjoying it.

Mate, you gotta stop causing pandemics and floods each time you step into the outback:) I like the poptop style camper on the OKAs and thank you for the beautiful wildlife photography. I am looking forward to the next blog. Good luck with your trek into the unknown conditions north.

A new blog post in which we cross the recently flooded Channel country & head to the Red Centre for a bit of 4wd adventure. Ruby Gap, some of the Binns Track & then a 1600km 'side trip' to drive the Sandy Blight Junction Road.

Well it's taken around 6 weeks to travel from Alice Springs to Darwin/Dundee Beach.
Grab a cuppa or a beer. & get comfy for a read. Not sure how far it is from Ballarat to Darwin, but we've taken around 10,000kms

Thanks jack mudnut ... I have no idea why the link in the post above is not working. If you copy the link & paste it into your browser it works ok, which makes me think the issue may be here on the forum.

Have checked & my blog site all appears to be functioning ok. If you are still having problems try https://cuppa500.com/Blog/ & it should take you to the latest post anyway.

Bloody hell! Over a month has passed since that last post, I'd better start thinking about writing another. Have been at friends place in Kununurra for much of the last 2 weeks, but leaving tomorrow to spend a couple of weeks driving & camping along the Parry Creek Rd, the King River Rd & the Karunjie Track. Will have to fit a day in to write a new post somewhere along the way!

It amazes me that you know the names for every bird species! I wonder if you are a biologist by trade.

Ta. No, just an amateur birdwatcher. I enjoy (mostly) the challenge of photographing them. Has all the elements of hunting except for the killing.
