Hi guys and girls,
My GU patrol is currently undergoing a massive overhaul I'm the engine and transmission department bit have not really put any thought into driveline as I've always assumed GU patrols have strong driveline....
We are expecting close to 400rwkw in our GU patrol so I wanted to know if there was anything I should be doing to the driveline that perhaps may need strengthening

Yeah right that's some power. Is that the 4.5L auto set up?

Close,
Xr6 turbo engine conversion with a fully rebuilt fully manualised auto with bm pro ratchet stealth shifter.
I know they get huge power in the UAE but just wondering if anything in the driveline will need upgrading

Depends on the nut behind the wheel. But they are pretty tough have mates with duramax's in gu's and so far they have not had any diff problems a few broken cv's but that can happen with stock motor an locker. They seem to have more trouble with the allison transmission than anything else if the give it a bit of punishment.

Fair enough,
Well I'd like to think of myself as a conservative driver on and off road .
As for my tranny it's an re4
It is built to the same spec as one that's currently in an xr6 turbo (yes they put them in other cars too now) and is consistently pulling 9.90's down the quarter.
So I shouldn't have a problem with that.
Cheers
