Welcome to the dark side Darren. You'll either love it or hate it. I hate crapple. But Android pee's me of sometimes, but I think its due to the age of my phone. A Galaxy Note 2. But it makes calls and sends text and has a big screen for blind people like me.

Good luck in your ventures.

Have you updated to latest system??
This is my contact setup.
So lots of options, and if you hit the drop down next to the name it comes uo with more name details ect..
Same with groups..http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/06/199.jpg

Oh wow thought you had bought a Yota from the thread title.

Yeah never owned a crapple but do like android. We used to have iphones at work then went android. Everything seems to work much better from that point forward. .

When you add contacts, if it says SIM card above the name change it 2 Device, this will give you the options 2 add more fields like notes, nick name, website.... etc.... well thats how it works with my S5

You actually went from the dark side....... Iphone's are crap :)

Got it thanks. How do I turn it off without shutting the phone down? Needs a light switch - would be easier.

Careful though if you have no charger, you can literally watch your battery get diminished when the lights on.

Swipe down again and turn off the same as turning on in reverse. I
There are a heap of torch apps you can download and add to your home screen though.

Like Rossco I thought you had gone mad and bought a Cruiser, had me worried.

You have not gone to the dark side, you have left it and seen the light, I have had Apple and was very happy to piss it off and go Samsung.

I love the Notes. Had a 2 then upgraded to the 4. Not sure if I will upgrade when the next one finally comes out, I like the replaceable battery.
Love the stylus, so handy for doing quick notes and drawings at work.
Also use the camera and zoom to read rating plates behind equipment or when they print them so small.
Had an issue with mine and excessive battery use. Found it was the Telstra app, wouldn't let me uninstal, but let me remove the updates, no more battery issues.

One of the benefits of retiring was getting rid of Samsung S6 with Internet access with bells & whistles and going to :-

a Samsung Flip Phone with no Internet , a Phone that takes Pics that you can just see and to answer you just open it up

That is a network feature or setting, would not matter what phone you have.

Nah no way. Voice mail is delivered in a list where it is kept forever. Name or number, time of call, length of message ans whether you have listened to it yet. You can call back pressing a callback button on the list at any time, no writing down numbers which is just dumb.

This is archaic. As a business user it is absurd that i have to air and listen ro messagea and press 5 to delete and wair to go through the list. This must be able to ne managed better? If not then this pgone has got to go! Seriously! Dumb!

Please feel free to tell may of anything that thia phone actually does that is better than an iphone? Leave the Apple Hate at the door and comment with constructive feedback please. Im just about done. Im hating it that much.

Emails look like crap
Text look like terrible.

Voice messages use the same system i had on my Nokia 6110 in 1997! WTF seriously!

Anyone want to buy a Samsung S8+

Get an app called SwiftKey. It is a whole new keyboard and the predictive text is brilliant. It learns from your typing and which common mistakes you make and it fixes them as you go.
You'll just have to proof read for now!

As with anything, it takes a little while to get used to new things..... Crapple was made for people who didn't or couldn't care less, Android was made for those than can and like to fiddle......... It really isn't that hard..... Oh and one other thing, Samsung like to add their own thing, you should have got a Pixel (pure android) or LG G6 (less bloatware than Samsung)
