Black smoke and no power

Got a pleasant surprise at the mechanic the other day. Had the 08 in for a pre-trial service and check-up to fix a major black smoke and power loss issue. Feared it could be injectors or turbo... $$$... Thankfully it turned out to be loose clamps on the intercooler hoses and a deteriorated wastegate hose. All sorted for a 6pack! Black smoke gone and the power is back yo normal :)

Yep. very common and happened to my fiancee's Navara. I thought the worse too when smoke was barreling out the back.
