Well i think the engine is solid. However my brother was saying the rest of the ute has been somewhat left behind a little.
So whats on the to do list..
4" lift and 35" muddies??

Nah mate, pretty much standard. Just tray, bullbar, winch, scrub bars and side steps. Bigger tyres and black rims when I can afford them.
The Dmax is the only one that doesn't seem to break the chassis like the other utes.
EGR block is just a harness you plug in and not a plate. A chip and dyno will see 300hp and 600nm...yeah cant wait to get it back from Bega steel fabrications

Gonna be a nice car mate and more practical for what you need. I do like the dmax out of all the dual cab out at the moment.

Still should have chopped the back off your GU though.

Yeah mate, I thought about it but it was falling apart unfortunately. It would have been a cheaper exercise to chop but yeah NO! I wouldn't buy a new Nissan again:(

Its a shame that their service is so bad. I wouldn't buy from Nissan after the stories I've heard.
Old mate Chester from Warragul is selling his 5L V8 GQ for about 3k at the moment. Something like that would be pretty cool.

Yeah right. It will be interesting to see a canvas one on a late model car. Not something you really see these days.

Maxhead
2nd June 2017, 06:47 PM
Plenty canvas ones around and 90% of times it will be just the ute with no cover. The canvas will only go on when traveling /camping to keep rain and dust out . The other bonus it will pack away easily where something solid will need its own bloody garage to store....sorry Toddie, you not going to sell me one...lol

Let me put it this way. I rang around 15 dealers around NSW. Everyone of those suggested only 3 tray manufactures , being Wagga, Bega and Young to be the best trays in NSW
Obvioisly I opted with Bega as its close to my place down the coast and I have actually seen and touched these.
Peter Moore does all far south coast and snowy mountains councils so that would have to say something for the name., and if his quality was no good he wouldn't be in business
He only uses Australian steel and would not touch other crap. I have heard this from a lot of reputable buyers like Snowy Mountains Scheme.

If you really want to pick the quality of the welds Todd, maybe show us what you have made

Tray looks good mate. Watch out for broken chassis though. Seriously. Is way more common that they want people to believe. Dual cabs with decent trays, all brands, suffer badly when things start getting heavy on the tray.

I reckon it's going to serve you well though bud. Drawer is a nice add.

Anyway, little something I threw up today. a 60w tray led light.
Should be a pisser at night to light the tray up.
Even put the switch just behind the ignition barrel to give me a little illumination as the off led stays on all the time...ingenious idea I thought...lol

Yep a couple of batteries under the front of the tray is a must as these only have a small starter so no good for anything but starting.

Finally got some ARB gear on. Looks the goods and I think much better then any other brand I had a look at.

So now I have

New Summit series bullbar, New range ARB offering compared to deluxe bar. these are 60mm compared to 47/50mm of others.
There was a couple of others I didn't mind but went with this one. It required a bumper cut so looks a lot more slimmer then others.
Fog light kit installed as well.

Brush bars and side steps, all 60mm and 3 point connect to the chassis for the steps. Look the business

Smittybilt 10000lb winch. It has a wireless remote but the cable is going to be routed into the cab with a switch. Has an isolator switch as well.
Hmmm wireless , gimmick or handy??? Not sure

OME suspension upgrade, never used them but could be OK.
300kg constant load and it is beautiful to drive....so much better than stock.
These are only a 1" lift which is what I am happy with.

Lights are to be installed anytime after it stops snowing..lol

Wheels and BF's are going to be on this week or next.
