Hey all hope everyone has been well.

I got my new dualcab not long ago and since its zd30 I have been told it is a grannate motor but also have been told that I'm able to prevent that and to my knowledge so far I have figure out that I need to do
Block of egr valve
Catch can
Bigger intercooler
Bigger exhaust
And ofcours regular maintenance. Please feel free to let me know do I need to add or do anything else and if anyone would know rough prices of how much are these things going to cost me. Thanks again all this is great forum been loving it soo far

Yes mate all the above should help prevent grenade but always the chance it will still happen, no guarantees. The bigger intercooler and bigger exhaust are more of a performance thing and not esential to the grenade issue. What you don't list there is the NADS system, which is probably the most important thing needed.

A good catch can and clean the pipework/intercooler and MAF sensor should be number one priority. Quick and inexpensive to do. And get a scanner like ECUTalk

NADS Nissan Anti Detonation System. A series of mods to help the 3.0 litre motor stay together longer. Usually a Dawes valve to set the upper limit of boost and a needle valve to adjust the spool rate. Done in conjunction with EGR block and a boost gauge and Exhaust gas temp gauge to monitor what's going on. Best to do a google search on it as there is a fair bit of reading. It's on this forum (and others) in reference documents. Mudski may have some kits for sale, not the gauges though. In my opinion it's a mod well worth the effort.

Nads gives you control of the boost and not the ECU.

Now that makes sense lol sorry slightly delay as its my first diesel and in all honesty I have no clue about them. But thanks to fit few people on here I have read and learned quite a lot. I'm located in Melb west so if anyone has or know any decent realisable places please feel free to suggest.

Tomorrow I think I might b going to get an exhaust done but not sure do I go straight pipe or get cat and mufflers as its auto I think it might be a bit drowny with straight pipe. I'm looking into getting some photos on here but have no clue how lol

Im out west if ever you need to drop in [brimbank shopping centre]
just to figure out whats what more than happy to show you
I too drive a 3ltr TD auto with Nads etc
Go the 3" exhaust with a high flow cat and a straight through muffler
Cant hear mine at all. First you may want to fit Boost and EGT gauges
I have and EGR block hear you can have, You need the gauges so you
know whats happening under bonnet every change you make

That sounds awesome man much appreciated I'm almost behind shopping centre. I got a boost gauge that I might try figure out how to instal tonight and go from there. Where did you end up getting your exhaust from?

I just went to an exhaust place next to my mechanic.

Crook back prevents me doing most jobs, Things are about
