Being new and no mechanical with this may be old hat for some, but today I had a win. Had been using heaps of diesel, chugging black smoke and no power at all the mechanic initially thought I may have an issue with either injectors or turbo. Turns out it was a matter of loose clamps on the turbo hoses and a stuffed waste gate hose. Damaged hose shortened and back in place, clamps tightened and the smoke is gone and the power is back. It has been a great day avoiding a bill in the thousands! Maybe I can get that 3" exhaust after all!!

Great low cost outcome. As many on this forum have said...check the cheap things first.

Yeah crazy wasn't it!!!

Tiny hairline crack on the ic pipe completely unnoticeable but power and ridiculously sooting and thought the worse!!!

Bloody Nissan though charging $250 for a specific elbow S shape.

Even the Nissan shop guy said there was a problem with the original hose splitting...grrr no recall of course!!!
