Do you want to skull drag it up here & use my shed again matfew ?😝 I've cleaned the big shed so we could get it in there by the potbelly - no more working half under the carport with the blizzard conditions blowing in 😉

Weather looks like its clearing up in Licola across Friday/Sat/Sunday, and wind moderating up on the mountain to some degree, light dusting of snow predicted, minus temps on the mountain, so rug up.

I have a bag of girls clothes and ( sealed) disposable nappies. 0-6 months. If anyone can pass them on to someone who can use them , I'll bring them on weekend.

Suck it up Garret bahaha.

My list at of this morning:
Re-assemble front diff. Just finished bracing it and painting it.

Ooh nice, any pics? Would have been nice doing it out of the car was pretty awkward doing in mine with it in. Would have been able to do a nicer job too, hope no one looks at the welds on the back side of mine [emoji53] . . .

Sounds like a bit of work to go good luck ! ! . . .

Nah I've been to busy to think of pics. Wish I did now.

ALMOST there. Seems I am missing 2 seals that bolt on with the spindle. Will chase them tomorrow. But the diff is in car and everything I can reconnect and connected. Tomorrow I gotta fix one of my bead locked tyres, service the ol girl and pack.

Sitting in my site office trying to stay warm, and have been keeping an eye on the snow report for the Mt Howitt area. Bear in mind Mt Howitt is at 1700M and we will probably only get to maybe 1300m, but its going to be increasing wind from 35 - 45kmhr on Saturday with wind chill circa minus 8 degC, light dusting of fresh snow from thursday thru to wed next week. When I was up there on Queens Birthday weekend there was patchy snow around near the carpark adjacent to the seasonal gate, at 1300m. Either way despite being clear skies predicted, will be very cold up there. Excellent! Licola is tame at 2 - 10 deg C

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!

Not long to go and I now actually HAVE a car to drive haha. Diff is in. Locker is working a treat. No leaks which is great.
All bead locks are now working a treat although still some air flow issues with tyres but they are functional just slow to pump up.
Might have to bleed brakes a bit more when I get there but thats easy enough.

It feels UNBELIEVABLE in the front now. Should of done this years ago haha. SOOOOO SMOOTH and tight. I thought my steering box was shagged but now it feels perfect. LOVING IT.

See how she goes on the long haul tomorrow.

BRING IT ON guys.

I may have missed it are we doing a big cook up again or just fending for ourselves.

CAN NOT WAIT for this.

A massive thank you rosco for the lift home I owe you a few beers for that one. Also a big thank you to all the people that offered help for the dirty toyota. I think I may have to buy a patrol to finally get home under my own steam.

Did anyone pickup the four pronged wire fork thingo that would have been near the fire? I got it out for the kids to use for their marsh mellows and I didnt grab it when I packed? Bloody spewin'. Even though it aint much, its been in my family since I was a kid, about 35 years.
But yeah a really, really great weekend. The snow run was ace! I have never in my life seen snow so powdery and seeing it blow off the back off the cars in front whilst driving like it was dust.
The tracks on the way back to camp were great. Those views too!!! Wow. Mt.Margaret Tk feels way longer than it actually is when you tired and want to get back to camp for a drink too. Haha!
Hows the food going around too. So bloody much food. We sat around the table and drank and ate pizza's until we were stuffed!!! God that was good.

I cannot wait for next year. AB did you rebook the cabins mate? If not you want me to do it?

I'll check and see if it got mixed up with mine on pack up. We ggave a few head torches out for kids to use and they dribbled back. Kind of lost track and think I'm d own 1 or 2 but not too concerned. I reckon I'd have noticed a good one in the collection though

They sell disposable plastic bag ice cube trays now , just fill them up which is a bit like filling up a hot water bottle but no screw in stopper , throw them in the freezer doesn't matter which way up down etc .

OK, this makes sense as I am looking at the difference in light colour between the 3 headlights in the photo, as I have a set of these same globes looking to install, and didnt want to go backwards, especially there is another post about difficulty fitting the globes with the heat sinks not allowing fitment with the securing clips.

No. It has 4 modes in 4wd plus descent control. Also factory rear locker. So being in qld snow mode basically has no use. Will hopefully be testing the sand mode this weekend.
