Gidday all.
I am a Brissy lad.
My whole family has owned patrols for YEARS.
My Dad owned a Gas/Petrol Ti Patrol in the late 90's and now Gu6 s a Gq TD42 And swears by it.
My younger brother us the same. He had a ST Gq TD42 for YEARS and now is s a 2012 50th Anniversary edition with the ZD30.
Me on the other hand loved my fast cars with 2 built R33 Skylines and A Ve L98 6lt Calais.
I have been renovating my house and needed a rig to tow trailers and cart materials and bit the bullet and bought a 2009 Gu Zd30 Patrol.
The lag and the lack of get up and boogie has been a bit of adjustment but I actually quite like it.
I have cars to take to the track and to drive Normally but my brother asked me to go to Bribie Island today so got my 12 month permit and an esky full of food and a footy and loaded my car with 3 of my 4 son's and my missus and off we went. And I must
WE HAD A BLOODY BRILLIANT DAY.
How good is this shit.
I am now a 4x4 addict.
4x4'ers are a different breed.
Yeah that's some complete tossers but mostly a bloody great bunch of people.
So next stop is the 4x4 supscentre. For some awnings and awning tents and a roof top tent to accommodate all 6 of us
Then it's a e Locker exhaust and some other mods.
Will upgrading my turbo to a External Waste gated turbo as the VVT Set up is shit. No control over boot peak and spool time and ramp rate.
I will stay around the same geometry turbo but will go a twin scroll manifold and I'll build a custom steam pipe top mount manifold for it then a eboost controller and a ECU remap and should be on a winner.
More torque more control over the boost same power more volume. Not chasing a racecar just a consistent predictable vehicle that allows more control of the attitude of it so as to be able to adjust to differant situations.
Cheers
Pattastic.
