Morning Platoon

Just introducing myself. Had a SWB Mav for a few months. Have hit up a few of the local trails around Cairns, creb track. Sunk it once already. All a learning curve for us Poms. Want to start building up a bit more knowledge and experience.

Cheers

Hello and welcome to the forum , best thing to do is join a club or do a 4x4 course.
In the meantime jump in anytime you like and most of all enjoy

Any 4x4 club in your area will have some sort of introduction course to 4x4ing.
A general break down on what your 4x4 is capable of, and believe me they are much
more capable than most drivers. Slow and steady is to go,,, out of ruts going up,
in the ruts going down, thumbs outside the steering wheel rim it will break
your thumbs. lol and never ,,never think of using the towball as a recovery point
it will break off and it will kill. There are two threads with pics that will show you the damage
it can do.
Tyre pressures play a huge part in how far you'll get, most would use low second gear
at 1500 to 1800 rpm and pick your line .
What area are you in some other members may be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks. I'm in Cairns. So far I have only found one club in Cairns. They haven't had an induction day where i've been able to attend yet. Hopefully the next one
