Hey Guys,

I already have an AFR gauge.
But, I'm wondering whether it's worth the trouble to have an extra
EGT gauge kit(fairly cheap) to backup the AFR in case it flops in the future.

I mean an el cheapo one like below.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-2-52mm-LED-Exhaust-Gas-Temperature-EGT-Gauge-Meter-Sensor-Universal-J1A2-/222230644732?hash=item33bdfa87fc:g:018AAOSwIgNXv80 k

It will also make the empty spaces of the three space dash pod look funky! :D ;)
Am I wasting time or can it be useful to get an idea about the exhaust gas temperature(as a back up).

Thanx

cant be good, if you really need that backup then invest in a backup you can trust, a EGT Gauge for under $20 cant be good!!

Yeah, I agree. I will end up getting what I pay for. It will be funky looking but unreliable EGT gauge, later if not sooner.

X2 whats the point in a gauge that monitors engine parameters & you can't trust it!!

Hay Dom, what the two above said is right on the button. Given that the EGT gauge can vary 50 to 100 deg depending on where the pyro is mounted, adding another inaccuracy to the mix deosn't make a lot of sense. When your driving along and you guage is telling you that the egt is 500 or 600 or maybe 800 or whatever is not much help.

Thanx mate. Pyro means the EGT sensor unit, right?

Yes, I understand it's a waste of time & money.

Cheers
