G'day all

Although I registered last year, I've not posted previously. Not sure why, can't actually remember posting an intro, have searched with no luck, but if so, then I'll just say G'day again.

Currently driving a 2004 GU 4.2TD since new, and hardly had it off road in all those years. In the last 18 months, I've given her 2" lift on the front, 3" on the back for HD towing caravan, late last year I change to a 3" exhaust and upgraded turbo from Denco, which has really picked up the power and will also have the fuel pump serviced and looked at next week. It's got 310,000km on the clock, and is still straight and no signs of any problems.

I've been contemplating a change to the LC79 double cab, but have decided to put a fraction of what that would cost into the Patrol, to give her some better off-road and long range capacity, which at almost stock, is still pretty good.

I tow a 3.2T loaded van - which is still not at full capacity, and although it is a pig for fuel, but it just goes and goes, so I'm hard pressed to make the change to the Tojo. So, I'll be looking for some inspiration for the Patrol and certainly look for what has been tried and tested for future upgrades.

I've got the pyro, dual battery and oil pressure gauges to go in, just need to buy the pillar pod this week, then follow up with diff breathers and a few other mods, which I'm yet to decide on or possibly think of! Still to get a winch, but that is on the cards, and protection for underneath, so will spend the next few months building it up.

So happy for any suggestions, on how to turn this 04 into an off-road beast and to start to enjoy our great country a lot more, knowing it will essentially go anywhere!

Cheers and regards
Dave

You may want to ask any questions under a different thread in another category too as a lot of people don't read the intro sections.
