Hi Guys, I have just acquired my dream car a 1999 Nissan Patrol GU Y61, Petrol 4.5 Liter. I dont have any user manual or any documents for the previous service history, I have just changed the Engine Oil, Brake fuild and Powersteering.

I need to know the specification of the Transmission and Differential Oil and some general service tips. I stay in Doha - Qatar

Welcome Shamaz - I had a 99 GU - she blew up for the last time last year and I retired her to the highlands
Your 4.5 will no doubt hang in a bit longer

Some of my problems I face is listed below. (1999 NIssan Patrol Automatic 4.5 GU Y61)

1) My gear seems to be slow in shifting and it has a drag (Autimatic Transmission). My mechanic says its due to the filter in the Automatic Transmission and needs a replace. Any suggestion.
2) The shocks are due to be changed, any suggestion for using my vehicle in dessert. Should I chane the spring as well.
3) There is a sound in the engine (It went off after I chage the Powersteering fluid for 2 days and its back)
4) Whats the best air filter, I need to get some sound as well, How about KN&N
5) Whats the max width of tyre can be used for stock rims

Thanks all,

i have some issues which i am listing below,

1) The grear shift is slow, there is a sudden drag which i think its beacuse of the gear changing. My mechanic has adviced to change the transmission filter.
2) Need to change the shock and sping . any suggestion for dessert as I live in a dessert area
3) What is the maximum width and height of tyres that would go with the stock rims
4) Does installing KN&N filter gives more engine sound if not any other filter that gets an additional sound.

Hi Shamaz, if you don't get any answers here you might get a better response by asking questions in a different category of the forum as a lot of members don't read intros and it might get missed.
