I dont know how useful the Donaldson electric lift pump will be if you want to also install a lift pump down at the tank. It will be work for little to no gain imo. Happy to be told otherwise though.
I run a 160rwkw td42 and use a Carter Hp4600 at the main tank. Works fine...

There is now also a HP4601. Slightly higher is flow rate, I think it is, or fuel pressure, but the 4600 will do if thats all you can get.
Since the primer is busted you could easily wire in a switch, and have the switch in the engine bay so you can manually turn of the pump for priming. Depending on how you wire it in of course. Mine is wire in via the oil pressure switch so I can have the ignition on without the pump working. Most just wire it in via the ignition....

No filter, just the OEM filter in the engine bay. Mine is mounted on the rear RHS on the exhaust mount. Plus I have plumbed in a by pass line so if the pump fails, or blocks up for whatever reason, the fuel still can be sucked through from the injector pump.

The oem pump is part of the fuel filter housing. As your pump is busted, just do as i have with the carter and you can use it to prime the filter when you change it.
And retain the oem filter setup...

What a totally sexy link! I know, anything more complex than a light switch excites me, but this is very smart stuff - at least for me!
