Electric fuel pump for Carby

Im not sure I can. I dont know what pressure the carb needs to run at on those. Parksy has just replaced a pump but his might be efi.

Why cant the mechanical one just be replaced?

Cheers guys the pumps I was looking at where only 15-30$ is the only reason to change to the electric otherwise I'll just replace the mechanical pump

I'm using one of these on my RB30 with the same carby as yours, so it should do the job for you.

Only thing is that I recommend you install it on the engine bay, rather than near the tank at the back.
The reason is that it makes a pumping noise of the diaphragm inside the pump, and that can be annoying if the noise barrier is not the best under
the chassis. I guess you can use rubber dampers to mount the pump, but I reckon it's lot easier and cheaper to install the pump in the engine bay.
I'm moving mine to the engine bay as well. It's bit more work for me with the plumbing, 'cos mine is a redundant pump(which I'm running at the moment anyway). The stock one is inside the tank in RB30 which is a real PITA to get to it when or if they fail.

Only thing is that when this pump is installed in the engine bay, it's more of a puller than a pusher, so it may take a while to suck petrol into the carby if the vehicle has been left alone for too long.
I would install it on the engine bay and if it works fine then leave it.
For any weird reason if it's too weak as puller(which I don't think it will be), you can install it near the tank and use rubber dampers to mute any possible annoying noise.
