Hi guys I have a 2000 GU II Patrol 3.0l and it's done almost 300'000kms and it's still going.
I bought the car in October last year and haven't really done much to it all I have done is the HPD boost controller which is set to run at about 8-10PSI I haven't had the car tuned or anything but if anyone has any suggestions as to mods I can get done to stop it blowing up. I have blocked the egr as well.

I was driving today and it overheated going up a lot of hills and everything. I have an egt gauge but I can't afford a 3 inch exhaust and I don't know how to wire up the gauge. And I don't know anyone who does.

Thanks guys

You might want to remove the radiator and give it a decent hose out.
Over the years mud and dust will block the air flow, your boost could be about
15 psi or 10psi at 100kph.

8-10 psi will help with "blowing up". Thats way too low. Set as high as it will go before you hit limp mode. You should get around 16psi. Should. If you get higher, then good.

So basically I should max out the boost before hitting limp mode

You won't blow it up.
Blokes are running 30psi on stock engines..

But.
Search on here for NADD and work threw the list.
16psi will be fine boost.
And if the ecu can't match the fuel load with the boost itll tell you by going into limp mode..

What have you tried so far,
is your intercooler oily to look at??
If so it will be hard to obtain boost
so you might want to source a tigged and pressure tested one.
Low boost is just waiting to overheat so wind it up then back it off a touch
when it goes in limp mode.
what side of Melb are you???
