Guys,
I finally mounted the aux 200amp alternator on the Chev today. There are 4 terminals on the back, earth and batt are pretty self explanatory, however there is a terminal labelled 'R' and an un named terminal. I am weak from an electrical perspective - where do these other 2 terminal need to be connected - detail answer as if you are dealing with a 5 year old pls!
Thanks

R(Reference) is the Sense wire, I think.

yes, in this case it is not internally coupled to the batt wire. Some control set-ups using rudimentary battery isolation allow the sense on only one bank, not on the system - I had a system from the Uk that did this - was based on a marine charging layout -

It's a popular upgrade with GQ alternator wiring to wire up a direct connection between alternator sense wire and battery to allow the regulator to get a better sense of the battery state of charge, thought I'm not sure about the Chevy alternator wiring.
Basically, sense wire and battery wire joins each other about 10cm from the alternator rear, just down the wire harness. So, that bridge need to be severed for the upgrade to work. Later models(GU onwards) fixed that issue and no need to do anything about it(I've been told by the guys who know about it better in here).
