Heading into the High Country tomorrow, from Moe to Mt Buller / Craig's Hut via Erica to meet a mate from home then south to Eaglevale for the first couple of days.

My wife uses an app Weather Willy that said Friday had a 100% chance of 50 - 100 mm of rain, that was this morning. It now says 80% chance of 5 - 10 mm.
Knew weather was about but that is Darwin tropical, of course she was right and was wanting to change plans. Holy she can be stubborn.

I looked at this one Australian Government BOM site, 95% chance of 10 - 30 mm in the morning.

http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/mountbuller.shtml.

I'm going to the original plan but curious what others use.

I use the BOM site. Their rain predictions always seem to be exaggerated though.

What are you doing in Moe? I live in Newborough. I've got a bit on tonight otherwise I would try and catch up with ya!

absolutley flogging down atm might even flood a bit
black as .but a bit of relief from the humidity

I see the official BOM app. Most other apps and sites leech data from them anyway so...

You know after the storm passes it's only going to get muggier....

As Hodge mentioned most weather data comes from BOM anyway.

I have used Windy but now use Windyty android app for wind info, but only need wind info when there are bush fires about

Well that's what I always believed anyway, but just looking into it quickly its not actually the case

Yeah we just copped 1hr of nothing i have ever witnessed before living here. We were litterally swimming in our street. Got some gopro footage lol. Then i thought shit the back yard. I opened my garage door and a river came flowing out. Well not a river but a good steady flow from the back yard. Looks like the drains couldnt handle the amount of water. Im soaking wet but still hot as...

It hammered down here ... Gutters couldn't keep up, and neither could the street drain.

Just started using the EmergencyAUS app. It can be set up to give alerts about weather, bushfires, road accidents & closures, power outages & other incidents. Has rain radar overlaid on the map as well. Users can report weather events where they are. Click on towns to get a weather report for that area, temp, rainfall, wind speed & direction.

Got mine setup to receive alerts from 40 km around my location.

Not a bad app, all emergency reports in one place. Also on the net at http://emergencyaus.info/map

Learn how to read a weather chart , ( one of the most useful things i have ever learned ), all bom reports very much ere on the side of caution after the ill-fated Sydney - Hobart a few years ago .... and than there is the sensationalism of the social media weather guru's. ... but that is a whole other subject !

I've got a few weather apps on my phone, most recent addition was the BOM Weather App, also use Willy Weather which is good for forecasts but also includes tides and swell, also use rain parrot but that only works well in Metro areas.
