G'day Toddstar, you live near Sydney don't you? May I suggest parking it overnight in the Western suburbs :-) Sorry I have no idea mate. How bad is the fuel in it or just been sitting too long? Might be worth the effort mate to drop the tank out and clean her thoroughly for peace of mind.

Fair call Todd :-) Was just stirring you up bro!
With old 'petrol' FJ's I used to use turps for a quick flushing. This could only be done because they were duel fuel and I would isolate the petrol tank off for a couple of days whilst on LPG. Then as like Roofy kindly suggested would pop off the petrol tank line and drain all the crud out. May not be the best idea for a diesel if you have mate? Still safest to drop the tank though I reckon, too good these Nissan donks to stuff em :-)

I know you were only stirring :) Not diesel unfortunately 4.2EFI, might just siphon what I can and see whats involved in dropping it for a proper clean out

Hey toddy.
Only did this a few months ago..
The full 150L! !!
I grabbed a few meters of clear 12mm hose and shoved it down the main tank neck.
The sub was more difficult due to the longer neck.
I removed the flexibility hose in the wheel arch and stuffed the clear hose down the solid bit..
Clear hose so you can see the fuel you get a mouth full..
Bit of lawn mower fuel ey??

4.2 efi you say. Dont they have their own pump in the tank? Take a house off and let the pump do its job. It will get as much as siphoning it will.

While they do have a pump in the tank, it doesn't doing it that way so I found out this morning. Pump only works for a few seconds before switching off, I assume something 2 do with the ECU controlling it.

For anyone else looking 2 drain the fuel on a 4.2EFI factory tank.......
Just undo the plug in the bottom..... drivers side, front of tank :) can't get any easier than that *L*
