Hi guys, just a quick one. Other day after a camping trip come home to find my front right wheel bearing was coming lose or was on its way out. I had already purchased a tool to undo the locking nut, so I went about inspecting the issue. When I got to the bearing nuts I founds that I had brought the wrong tool. My patrol has 2 nuts and I had Brought the round tool one that takes the grub screw. I was lucky that the nuts had just came undone so they weren't hard to undo, turns out previous owner hasn't had a tool to undo the nuts so he has used a hammer and cold chisel to tighten both nuts and destroyed the locking tab in the process. Must admit I'm surprised it has taken so long to come undone. The bearings still look fine but I'll be replacing it anyway not sure if he used the right torque settings on his hammer when he did them up. Now this is question, are the round nuts with the grub screw locking plate setup better then the 2 large nuts setup? Is it just as simple as pulling old ones out and putting new set up back in? What do you think?
