My car is 1992 Nissan Patrol Automatic 350000km done with regular service history and smooth, standard and very reliable..Its my family car basically and sand driving twice a year to the little dessert......
I'm a beginner to 4WD.After I had fun with 4wd in sands, on the way to home I changed the gear 4H to 2H....Change front wheels from Locked position to auto...After 300km drive on free way I heard some clicking sound and when I tried to stop it came up with a tapping sound. Then only I found out the left wheel is in auto position and the right one is in locked position....I'm not sure whether I did it wrongly or not ......:1087:
I changed both wheels in to auto position but still it keep geeting the tapping sound...Before I go to my mechanic I would like to know what happened to my car and what will be my cost roughly......

Hi mate.....post up an intro about urself when u get a chance.

Go check out his thread on Auto Hubs. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?596-Fixing-GQ-GU-auto-hubs&highlight=fixing+auto+hubs

I also have a 92 Patrol with Auto locking hubs, and after some drama's with them i have removed the auto locking mechanism, no real need for it.

Cheers Todd.
