The Y61 has already been in runout for a few months now. The end of the larger utes is here too. With run out of the y61 and the landcruiser ute ceasing production in 2017.

Australia only.
They are just about to re-introduce the Super Safari spec model of the Y61 in the Gulf, so they're hardly ceasing production.

I thought they were continuing with it as they just released an update didn't they? It is meant to now have added emission controls in one way shape or form?
I could be wrong.

How on earth do the big yank 6.0+ L pickups meet Euro stuff ? Reckon they're multiplying in conversion numbers around our area too!

What are you referring to here? If its the cruisers then I dont believe it to be an emissions problem but safety systems.

They make their own. Also some of the yank stuff has clever cutout technology and all the diesel stuff is crd with dpf etc etc.

By something I heard on the news just then most/all manufacturers BS their emissions and economy figures by up to 20% anyway, so may end up rather farcical? Fingers crossed anyway...

Might put off selling the GU 4.2TD for 10 years and cop a 20k bonus at sell time.

Farewell old friend and old foe.
Farewell you technological wonder.

With chassis and suspension of old
added to engines of grenade ability.

You should have been the toast of many.
But bank balances were roasted aplenty.

Farewell to the long standing Y61
The days for the likes of you are done.

i have no idea why they dont just make the 4.2 more to Australian emission standards and re produce a 2017 model.. they would make a killing!
