Hey guys, as can be seen from my join date, I've lurking around for over 6 years now, ever since I first bought my 04 GU III ST 3.0 Lt DTi Wagon.
I've been a member of the Western Patrol Club (http://westernpatrolclub.com/) since not long after that, so some on here will know me, whether they own up to that fact is another thing entirely :tease:

In 2010 I started with a goal to build a vehicle to tour around and explore our great country.

Mission partially accomplished….

My Fiancée and I have not long returned from a 4 month, 23k km round trip, from Perth to Cape York and back via the Great Central Rd, Bloomfield Track, Lakefield NP, PDR, Most Northern point of Oz, OTT, Frenchmans Track, Chili Beach, Druggies Shortcut, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Most Eastern point of Oz, Fraser Island, then home over the top following The Savannah Way through Burke Town, Lorella Springs, Roper Bar, Mataranka, Lake Argyle and then the Gibb River Rd and back done the West Coast.

Now a little about my truck:
I bought it stock standard with 78k kms on the clock, progressively fitted NADS form 500km-ish later, there's now 253k km on the clock with no "major" dramas except a head gasket about 40k km ago due to an internally blocked radiator and non responsive standard temp gauge. Replaced it and the head as a precaution at home and cleaned the inlet manifold.
90% of all my mods were fitted by me, several that weren't and I suffered the consequences with return visits to rectify problems. Bang Head

Setup is now as follows but not limited to:
23" STEDI Light Bar, ARB Twin High Flow Compressors, Full Length Alloy Roof Rack, Black Widow Jack and Shovel Holder, ABR-Sidewinder Dual Battery System, Small Barn Door Extension Bracket, Icom 400 Pro UHF, Safari Snorkel, Boost Gauge, EGT Gauge, Rear Cargo Barrier, Outback Rear Drawers, 33" Hancook MT’s, Dawes valve and Manual Boost controller, EGR block, 2” Lift, TJM Winch Bar, CampTrax 270º Awning, 12,000lb Winch, ARB 60ltr Fridge, ARB Front Air Locker, ARB Rear Bar/Dual Wheel Carrier, Rear Coil Tower Braces
A work in progress

Next mod is to be a heartbeat upgrade, so the guys in "All things Chev" will be hearing from me :smiley_thumbs_up:

Cheers
Craig

Vehicle was immobilised in a direction that required you to exit said vehicle to remedy the situation = Bogged :eck05:

A lot of kms in 4 months! So what's this 'Druggies shortcut'?

It's a track just south of the Frenchmans that kind of runs parallel to it, 38km long.

I'm not sure if that's its actual name but that's what some locals called it.
