GU patrol

I have a 99 GU patrol wagon 2.8L and I have noticed down the lower part of each gear if low on revs blows quite a decent puff of white smoke until turbo spools and it disappears, I've also owned a Toyota Land Cruiser and Hilux diesel before and this never happened, could this be an issue?

Hey there not sure if this helps but I've got a 98 2.8 and no such problem with mine. I think you may have a problem:/

G'day SirRocket, not much of a mechanic meself but does sound ominous mate :-( Blokes on here tomorrow will know better as all that I can assume is 2.8L fuel related maybe?

Isnt white smoke water related???

White smoke for mine was air in fuel line - but was not related to turbo speed. Mine fixed (at the moment) by replacing all flexible fuel lines with everything crossed it's not the IP...
