Hey Guys,
I need to fully clean/wash a Patrol rear LSD diff center.
It has gathered some crap inside from not packing it properly for storage.
What should I use? Can I use petrol, degreaser, etc?
I prefer something not too expensive, unless I have no other choice.
Thanx in advance for any suggestion, advice, tips, etc.

I'd have thought petrol was perfect? Degreaser for sure but you need to make sure all residue is removed before any install.

Yeah mate, I will make sure to blow some high pressure air and remove any moisture or residue from inside.
I thought it's better to ask for some advice 'cos it's an LSD and have a clutch pack with precision balanced springs.
The recommended oil is more thicker LSD oil, comparing to normal open diff oil.
I thought it's better to ask before I screw up something. :D
I personally prefer degreaser 'cos I can spray enough degreaser and then spray with high pressure water(easier than using petrol).
But, I'm not sure whether the clutch pack will be happier with that approach. For an open diff, I would simply use degreaser with a high pressure spray without being anxious about stuffing it up.
I can most certainly put the center in a oven of something and remove the moisture from it immediately.

Using a heat gun is a better idea than putting the diff in the oven. I most certainly dont wanna end up cooking the pinion seal. :)

What about kero?.
it leaves a oily residue behind.

50/50 diesel / kerosene put the centre in a container cover completely then let it soak for a day or two.
Dissolves most crud and scrape or brush off the mess.
Used to clean all the drive sprocket crud (very sticky and full of rubbish from the track) off our go-karts engine, chassis, axle, bearings, sprockets and chains with this it works very well.
