Hello all. I have a 1998 4500 TI Patrol and I love it. I have had very few problems but now have a problem with the Aircon. On a hot day when in slow moving traffic the Aircon stops working. I think the problem is the fan for the Aircon cooling at the front of the radiator is not coming on. Not having a lot of money I am trying to sort out the problem. If anyone can help I would be most appreciative.

Welcome to the forum John, if you don't get many responses here you may get better answers if you post questions in a different section as a lot of members don't read the introductions.

Check your Coolant Level as mine had the same problem and once coolant was topped up No more troubles

Welcome. Check the thermofan on the condensor is coming on.
If your stopped or slowed down and its getting warm it could mean the fans not cycling or moving enough air or not turning at all to cool it.

Welcome aboard John !
My own past experiences of aircon stopping in traffic & hauling heavy loads was that the cars were in fact slightly overheating. Do you have a numbers temp gauge mate or just standard patrol issue?

Gas has been checked and found to be OK Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Not sure how it's wired up on a patrol, but, if the gas is of, I would try to find the fuse and relay for the condenser fan. If that's all good, it could be one of the pressure switches.

Does the fan kick in if you hold the revs up?
