That last part of the article is bs. They let someone import their own vehicle into oz, albeit illegal by our standards, but let them do a "basic safety test" and then your good.
What fecking shi!t.

Bizarre aye, our cars are not allowed to have such mods and are viewed as dangerous to be on the road yet that one isn't.

'cept if the vehicle's still in the country when the Carnet de Passage expires it gets taxed to the shizenhausen, forcibly exported or crushed.

All the vehicles in the latest Mad Max were imported into Namibia on Carnet de Passage and crushed after filming wrapped up. Shame!

Yeah I'm real tempted to contact the Australian Automobile Association and ask them what is exactly needed for their basic safety test and then ask them. WTF?! Lol.
I know i would be just pissing in a head wind but this really gets my goat. I would just about guarantee it would fail a swerve test. When I got my patrol engied the engineer even said mine would easily pass a swerve test with 35's. But still can't allow it. Sucks. Big time.
