I know it’s a Toyota, but I thought this photo was worth sharing, not just for it’s subject, but because of it’s quality. Wish I could take pics like this, but think I’d need a significant camera upgrade. Photo is by a friend Rob Gray ( http://www.robgray.com) who has given me permission to share it. (If anyone would like to share it elsewhere please make sure you attribute it to Rob.

I just compared that to a few of my Simpson photos that I had considered good and realized how they pale in comparison.
I think mine always look good to me because of the memories they invoke.

The pale colours you mention TPC, normally have had a little boost from photo development software, like Ronin's excellent panorama. There's no secret to it either, but many shots out of camera are a little flat.

You can actually change your camera colour rendition profiles and continue to use them 'as they come', or you can import them into one of the many photo processing programs and give them a little help.

A few more for fun LOL!

In all honesty I think you take some pretty good photos Cuppa, the majority of good pics are a result of at least a little post production work even with good cameras.

Still amazed by the tracks when you went, this is from 2012, not a track in site.

We came across this scene a few sandhills away from Eyre Creek in 2010, Amazing how green the Simpson can get.

I think I want to go again now too... :-)

I just want to go before it gets too crowded..

30 years ago, I did the drive from Northam up through Newman to Roeburn. We were lucky to see two vehicles in a day when we came back through Gascoyne Junction.

Did the trip a couple of years later and there were cars every half hour. The feeling of remoteness was almost gone.

Would love to head back one day with my kids too. Last drove it some 25 years ago on me 'L' plates to the best of my memory it wasn't too busy for us, lucky week no doubt. Probably a good thing as I think Dad used his jocks taped to the liitle am aerial as our flag. Would have been a disaster if some poor adventurer was heading east-west the hard way towards us :-(
