Does any1 think that 25kgs each for heavy duty slider/steps is a bit excessive for weight?? They r supposed to go a 97 gq 2.8l turbo diesel

Quality tube, thick plate, a bit of sheet..

Had some1 change the Mounts to suit another vehicle and they put these big beefy things on which added a lot of weight, just worried about fuel consumption and if it gonna disadvantage me at all while 4wding

Definitely won't be a disadvantage while 4WDing. In fact my rock sliders have been one of the biggest advantages offroad! My door sills would be destroyed if I did not have my sliders!
Naturally it will have a negative effect on fuel consumption but I don't think you'd even be able to notice the difference with 50kgs.

Ok goodstuff thanx, yeh was just a little worried cuz they were a lot lighter , and now they goin on diff vehicle cuz Wat the mounts were changed for got stolen so I will fitting to car and can change them back to make lighter if I want but it's a lot of work

50kg won't make much of a dent..
You don't notice an passenger or 2 in the car.

It will be less weight than carrying a passenger. So the fuel consumption concern is apparently not a valid one.
But, excess weight should be. Any extra weight you add can be disadvantage or an advantage depending on the terrain. 25kg sounds heavy, but i reckon it would be hard to make strong one with steel bars without reaching that weight.
Do they make alloy, aluminium rock sliders?!

Personally wouldn't use any thinner than 3.2mm wall on a 40nb 'Medium' and it weighs 3.57kg/m

Looking great Daz :-) That outer bar is huge mate, will look beafy as once fitted up !
Generally the inner bar closest to the chassis and directly below the sill on most sliders does most of the work and eases catching on the chassis connection stubs. It may pay to throw in another bar mate somewhere roughly pictured below:
