Long term project.....
I do know that the auto transmitions are the same. But need to change the torque converter to a Diesel one.
I do think the bell housing has to be changed as well.
With the 4.2 diesel engine. Is the crankshaft the same for a auto box as the manual box.
Are the from coil springs the same.Petrol to diesel. As I have a 2" lift.
I will be changing the diffs to a 4.11. At the moment I have the 3.9 ratio.
Then the wiring to do and speedo cluster etc.
I am thinking of changing the diffs very soon as some 4.2 petrols has that ratio.
The fuel consumption should improve heeps less load on the engine should mean less fuel used.
