Anyone have feedback on providers in WA for DC conversion and or chassis extns? Tray lengths?
Photos of results appreciated.
4.2TD ute; 4.5TB wagon. Looking to combine both to save 1x licence and get rid of petrol bill.

Nice unit in the pic. Shame you missed it! Looks exactly like what I want to end up with.
You planning on extending chassis too with yours? I haven't done the maths, but I imagined an 1800 tray was going to be too long on standard chassis. Be great if it isn't.
How long was tray in pic?
That one looks like WA rego. U considering sending WA vehicle to Melb for cut n shut or are you over there?

Cab stretch, same as ET I believe.
Purchased mine complete, already done, and finally got to experience the Nullabor back home East, truly awesome!
Very happy personally also with the Laingley, just takes up much time explaining to people in our local IGA carpark that Victorians can't do em that good, as far as I know ;-) ?

Whoops, memory just kicked back in!
Have had one very minor issue that needed attention ASAP once spotted.
Mine being an earlier conversion model lacked a drain hole in the extra cab tack on. A mate in the panel game noticed a start up and kindly rectified the issue. I believe there was a wall between the two lower sills with only a drain on the original side. All good now, but worth the quiz to any company attempting conversions.

Work and quality, Yes, it is top notch and they have done 100's of vehicles over the years.
Dollars I don't know as the Taxpayer foots the bill so money is no object

Check out my mates extended GU its had a heap of work done to it.
I wont be stretching mine, just a dually with a tray

http://www.guidebooks.com.au/ourvehicle%20conversion.htm

Dont they have two cab extensions [fibreglass] for the GU ones
a 300mm and the other is 450mm or 600mm????

Not sure about those particular extensions threedogs. I have wagon to cut down - which I was informed somewhere along the way - is much easier than building single cab ute up to extra/dual.
Thanks for feedback so far everyone...

Thanks for the mention of MVS Clunk. Will look into them too.
Yep. Agree threedogs. I bought a wagon that "hadn't been thru any trauma". Have since found what I reckon are grip marks on the inside of rails from a chassis straightening unit. Oh well...
Will start a thread once it all begins, it'll be a while tho. Glaciers have been known to move faster than me.

In WA you are pretty limited to Laingley or TL engineering. I can vouch for the TL job though the start dates are right out there at the moment.
Remember that if you are getting it done in WA VSB6 compliance is a must.

Really TD?

Yes really,, there are a few things going on in the back ground.
A few friends have them ,Ron Moon with his stretched 4.2td
plus a few GQ and GU dual cabs , Its catchy lol You can see the advantages on the tracks
and out camping plus some disadvantages
