Hey guys I have 2014 titanium edition with the re badged rhino alloy roof racks I have a door top tent on top but the car sits at 2.6m high, I saw a steel roof top tent rack for $290 from Hume 4x4 on gum tree, does any other member have one of these? Or recommend a solid and cheap brand that you have and personally tested? Thank you in advance!

Matty,
I have an alloy rooftop tent rack from Aussie Auto Parts in Campbellfield Melbourne.
Give him a try, as mine has been OK. Chinese made, but the quality is OK and it does the job.
Not as nice as my ARB Rack, but it is half the price too.

They look very nice on the site, the set up I currently have works but is not ideal, I can not fit in any carpark and sick of getting out of the car to get my mocha frappe from mac as I like the track lander version but can not justify paying $1800 for one!

Gday,
As I said earlier, I have the same rig and also thought of fitting a RTT on the Rhino rack, but was deterred because of the height. I try not to have anything higher than my "big stick" antenna, as I use that as my height clearance guide. I also toyed with the idea of getting a different rack but like the design of the Rhino for the ease of holding & securing items. I once carried 3 bags of firewood from Canberra to the High Country without remembering to secure them. They stayed there with the help of the high sides.
Anyway .... if you do decide to swap racks for a cheaper quality one, I recommend that you get steel and not alloy. I have had some experience with the cheaper alloy racks and they just fall apart or bend badly with minimal weight. Steel may be heaver, but it's solid, and you can "bush weld" it if you have to. My son recently bought a cheaper steel rack for his trip to the cape, and other than the cheap paint coming off, it held up well with quite a bit of gear on it.
Good luck.
