Hey Guys,

I'm wondering what are these plugs on the RB30 block(exhaust side) for.
The coolant drain plug is at the same level as the welch plugs towards the back end of
the block on the same side.(It's not showing in these pictures as it's hiding behind exhaust manifold)

Looks like a possible oil pressure feed and drain point for a turbo. Just blanked as one was not fitted to your engine.

^What he said.

Rb30 was originally used in the skyline. While they were only sold here as n/a due I think to the same engine being used in the vl turbo and dome ridiculous reg surrounding it, i think the jdm skylines had a turbo option.

This is the thought coolant drain plug and another plug/bolt next to it.

Is this the coolant drain plug(top one)?

What is the plug/bolt below the bigger plug used for?

Thanx

Don't like the looks of the corroding welsh plug in the pic.
The contract between gm and nissan for supply of its vl RB30T engine stipulated,
nissan couldn't release a car with RB30T in AU, poor gm would never be able to sell its vl with rb30t.
The first upgrade with a Vl was, swap out ecu's for a skyline turbo one ,instant power upgrade.
hence my comment below lol
