Have been shopping around for a steel bar as everyone keeps telling me I should have one, so have been doing the rounds and can't seem to go past the ARB for quality so seriously considering the commercial bar, but the MCC Rocker looks awesome as does the xrox,

I really liked the xrox but wanted the 3 loop option which they don't do... but just about decision time I stumble across this brand RAslarr which caught my eye so sent them an email for more info' . They shot me back a few photos and prices of their latest model bar. So now waiting to see if it gets the thumbs up from the workshop. Its made in Aus in Vic. anyway just thought this might be interesting for anyone else in the hunt for a decent (i hope) locally made bar under $1500

Nice bar, but is there anywhere to mount lights under the the hoops? The law is getting tough in NSW with lights above the hoops, maybe OK in QLD?

Check to make sure the Raslaar bar is ADR Compliant for your Airbags, i can't remember if his are.
Winnie might have an opinion on the Raslaar bar work..... he has a bit of it.

Im not 100% sure the Rasslar bullbar is ADR because of the angle its on.
I came across this problem with a friend and his Y62 wagon

Raslarr bar is not ADR compliant.
I've got a bit of his barwork on my GQ, the quality of the welds etc is really good, as a company he was pretty difficult to deal with. The powdercoat all fell off in a week too.

The trouble with getting powder coating to stick is usually they cant get enough
heat into the steel to make it "stick", maybe a 2pack paint thats chip proof, even POR15
would be perfect IMO

in the email they sent back says its fully ADR compliant, at least that new one in the photos is. Was going to ask em how much to gal coat it before sending up as I recon I could hit it with a spray can to match colour

I recon you could fill those two holes in the bar fill in plates with a couple of spotties

Specifically ask him about being Airbag Compliant.

Ask him for his Certificate number or reference to compliance, this should be readily available for him to send you.

this is the email I got back =
"Hi Dan, yes we make a bullbar for the GU and price is $1250 with headlight hoops plus shipping. No sorry, we don't have anywhere in Brisbane you could go to look at one. Yes they are ADR approved. We also have a new style of bar which is $1400 and I will attach pics of both styles. We also do scrub rails but you need to get sliders as well. Thanks"

Pretty short and sweet but will definately call him in the morning for this info, thanks for the heads up, am pretty keen on these so hope its all good... otherwise will have to resort to the ARB commercial bar.

A snipet from, His description of his bar to suit as follows---
Quote The Raslarr range of Bull Bars to suit the Nissan Patrol from 1997 - 2006 to suit non-airbag specific end quote.

Guess if you have airbags, not compatible.

Buy the bar in its raw uncoated condition,,,,,,,Then go get it zinc plated
after that use some POR15 on it,,,,,That will never chip and looks great too

I have a Raslarr rear bar with wheel holder and and twin jerry can holder.

I can vouch for their quality and workmanship. When getting fitted (by them) the owner showed me around workshop and all looked good.

Can't talk about bullbar but appears to be a strong bar from pics.

I would check out Millweld as well. I've got a Millweld bullbar on my car and very much rate their gear.

Yeah if XRox did a 3 loop, air bag compatible bar, also to suit a high mount I'd be straight onto it. One day someone will.

Apparently they can do them with the side hoops.

Yeah I spotted though last week whilst browsing. Effing ugly looking bar though. I reckon the Mansfield coppers would just set up camp outside Milweld and wait for the finished cars to come out, and then have a field day with them. :D

Yeah that's why you buy from them, chuck it in the back of the car and fit it at home!
Or do what I did and buy it through Patrolapart, they are a distributor for Millweld.
