Hi All,
Just introducing myself and my first 4WD, the Troll.
She's a 1982 MQ Shorty, got a Runva 9500lb rope winch, bull bar, 31" Federal M/T's, but stock height and springs.
I'm fairly new to wheeling as a driver, however somewhat been around them as a passenger and navi for when I go out in my mate's GQ.
He's been great in educating me on 4x4 safety, recovery safety, technique, making me sh*t bricks, sweat bullets, and also showing me what is capable of a well set up truck.
In the few weeks I've owned my Troll, I've mainly been about the Neerim Sth area as the tracks are open, and lots of fun, and every time I go out, the MQ is constantly surprising me with what it's capable of.
I don't plan on keeping it for more than about 6-7 months, then I'll upgrade to a LWB GQ, preferably something old enough for club rego as it won't be daily driven, so costs will be kept to a minimum on the MQ. Any money I do spend on it will hopefully only be on parts I can carry across to the GQ, or just some preventative maintenance and servicing.
Anyway, if anyone is keen to head out some time on some easy/medium graded trips soon, please let me know :D
