G'day guru's , newbies, and fanatics.
Recently returned to a GQ after surviving 7 years with a Mitsubishi Delica.
The Delica cost me more repairs in 7 years and 60,000km than every other I've ever owned in 40 years combined.
Worst thing I ever did was sold the original GQ - knew it was a mistake, but didn't realise how big a mistake.
Spent a bit of time on Patrol 4x4 with the first GQ, but this seems a better forum with more information regarding mods and repairs, so - give it a go. Modded the GQ;s 4 speed auto into a "H" pattern stick shift with TC lockup in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/nissan-patrol-gq-y60-ford-maverick-11/gq-automatic-manual-override-h-shift-converter-lockup-24857/

The new GQ is a manual 4.2 efi 97 model with impco gas. 240km and pretty clean/straight.
Other than fixing the poor work done by shop mechanics it's in pretty good nick.

Hope to share info, learn and help.

Wow - what a great welcome from so many members.
Thanks for making me feel at home.
TIme to take the oath...
- I promise...
to search well before asking stupid questions
To be polite to newbies who ask stupid questions for the billionth time
to battle hard against the insanity of computers in the noble quest of posting accurate photos of my mods
to scratch, dent , and apply liberal amounts of mud, grease and dust to my Patrol for the purpose of developing it's character (and mine)
to always take a photo when having to recover a Toyota in an embarrasing situation
and to never stray from the path of Nissan loyalty ever again.
Praise be the GQ.
