Would I be correct to assume that a diff needs to be removed from the vehicle to weld on one of these jiggers?

If so how much is involved to remove & replace a diff?

A job worth doing if the diff has to be removed for other reasons, but otherwise not worth the bother?

Hi Cuppa.
I believe Mark Mudski sells these too. I think he welded his on recently... I may be wrong. And diff was still on the car.
I don't think diff needs to be removed.
Hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.

Can be done on car. Just wait until the diff oil is due for a change. Weld it on then change the oil.

So the concern is , the heat from welding will destroy the oil ?

Not so much. It helps keep it cool as such while your welding. It will burn the oil directly in contact. Then just change it.
