So this morning I got stuck in a deep spot of mud next to the lot I'm building on and decided to put the car in 4h to get me out. Got out, drove a few metres, parked and put the car in 2H. Light on dash is still showing the car is in 4x4 mode, even 4 hours later . Will it turn off eventually or is there a problem ?

Try driving the vehicle forward and in reverse in 2wd and see if the light goes out.

Auto hubs?

If so, drive the vehicle in reverse in 2H for a car length or two, then forward for teh same distance.
Repeat if necessary but should disengage the first time

Did you drive on concrete or bitumen in 4WD?

He mentioned driving forward a few meters. On both my patrols it takes good 5-6 metres forward before light goes out.

Yeah, agree... mine always went out within about two car lengths going forward so no more than 10 metres or almost immediately if I went reverse then forward

Havnt driven the car more than a few metres (as I'm at work) but was just panicking and probably asked a stupid and premature question. Thanks for the response and insight boys appreciate it
