Hey guys

I’ve got a 2011 Auto CRD Patrol and am looking at a few performance mods. I have a couple of questions that can hopefully get answered.

1. I am looking at purchasing a 3 inch exhaust system with cat from Playtime Auto. I have heard a few Patrols with straight through setup. I find it to be abit hollow / airy if that makes sense. I have been recommended to get the system with a hotdog type resonator as a happy medium to straight through and a muffler.
Has anyone had an experience with a 3icnh exhaust with hotdog type resonator?

2. After the exhaust I am looking at an ECU Remap. I have spoken to a few companies and all have mentioned about blocking the EGR thought he ECU so no blocking plate needed.
But have had a few conflicting versions in regards to boost. Some will install a boost controller with no needle and tune the fuel curve to suit. Others have said not to install boost controller or needle as it can affect the tune and they would adjust the maps and limiters within the programing.
All companies seem to have plenty of business and positive results with patrols. Has anyone got any experience with ECU remapping?

Cheers

Hi mate could I suggest you post up an intro before asking questions, no harm done
just something the Forum asks of us all.
Blocking the EGR is illegal but most do it, They say a 6mm hole in the plate for a CRD
will trick the ECU into thinking its unblocked.
I have DP chip and more than happy,,, there are a few members with a re-map and very impressed.
After an intro you'll get a better response too.,, enjoy.
I also have a 3" system but its very quiet imo.

I have a 3inch Beaudesert exhaust with a 2 3/4inch muffler fitted and have no issue with noise.

From my research with ECU remapping there are two types of companies. One that downloads a program and installs it on your ECU and one that can modify a program to suit your vehicle in house.

I don't know about adjusting MAPs, I do believe they can "clip" MAF voltages to prevent limp mode but does this improve performance.... I don't know.

"After an intro you'll get a better response too.,, " I do know this is not correct. If someone here can help they will regardless.

I had a 3 inch exhaust and ECU remap done on my CRD Patrol about 18 months ago. Totally transformed the old Patrol from gutless to something with a bit of poke that can over take safely on the highway. The installer said that the ECU remap software he was using could not disable the EGR. It only allowed him to alter the fuel map.
