GU 3 - 4.2 Diesel - for sale $22 & 26k - seems to good to be true?

Gday folks,

I'm hunting for my 1st Patrol.

I understand that the 4.2L Diesels hold their resale value very well in the mid $30K range.

Looking at a couple currently on car sales - one for sale used to be a 3L that had engine replaced with a 4.2L TD

another for 26K with nothing obviously wrong from the ad

Any expert advice on steering clear of 4.2TD that are this cheap

Not knowing any details like km's doesn't help with answering your question but check them out by all means, They're not made of gold mate, I wouldn;t pay 30k on a 13 year old Patrol...LOL

The 4.2s range from $17000 and up. There's one in gippsland ATM for $17. As Nisshead said, you'd need a lot more info about the car.
