I haven't been driving the fourby for few weeks and this is what I got under the bonnet.
They are bonnet fungi, or pin head fungi.
Looks cool though.

Are you sure?!!
They can stay on that state for weeks if the moisture and right climate is there(not too much heat).
I've seen it on my bikes as well. Usually springs out of locations of paint, when they usually are in undercover places with moisture and no heat. Now, I'm confused as well. :D

It sounds like I was wrong.
It looks like they are not fungi, but lacewing eggs.

It's pretty interesting the way they manage to attach the eggs to a tiny but strong tentacle.
Or may be it doesn't start that way, but grows?!!

Yep, they apparently are lacewing eggs. They obviously choose under bonnet for obious reasons. The car's been quiet for a while and it's been weathering outside, so It's been moist and safe under the bonnet for the bugs to lay those eggs. :D

This is what they look like. I'm guessing, for whatever the reason, the insects made a mistake, 'cos when the larvae comes out of those eggs, they won't have anything to eat from the metallic paint of the vehicle. The larvae will die of starvation.
For whatever the reason, the female lacewing bug is making a mistake with her choice of egg laying surface, which should be the bottom of certain plant/tree leaves. The extra comfort she found for the eggs under the bonnet, won't help the larvae to survive once they hatch. :(
It's a sad outcome for the little bugs. :(
