Bugger......... I have a considerably important function to attend this weekend.
Who organizes it. I would like to see the rules and what class my ute will fall into. Seeing that and I will definatly enter the next one

If CDMA rules anything other than STD like lockers etc will see you in Outlaw class
if you have heaps done, you're up against the big boys Im afraid

Just found their site. I'd be in the modified. The only thing keeping me out of the locked, up to 35 inch class is the reduction gears and the long arms by the looks of it

Here's the site. Ben-e-boy you could run locked with a penalty for the reduction, you'll be fine with the long arms. It's a fairly relaxed comp, everyone's there for a good time. It's all points based and not timed, so less likely to do damage etc.
Cheers

Ah righto. I don't really fancy a 75 point penalty. I think next time I'll throw in a stock t-case.
Its the " Standard spring and diff mounts only" rule that kinda threw me off using the long arms

ben_e_boy my mate has long arms and pretty sure he didn't get any penalties. They're fairly casual with the comp (that's what makes it great) as for the penalty, my mate who won last time had a 100 point penalty for beadlocks, so if your good it shouldn't worry you.

They have changed it a little to make it fairer, in that they give smaller penalties for each track. Last comp my reverse lights were broken, and I lost 15 points per track (1 reverse penalty) fairly sure matty lost the same for his beadlocks (total loss o 105 points actually)
But as I said, it's fairly relaxed. We ran an extra track last time as there was only a small number of us.
Just a great weekend really.
They do have a Facebook page aswell, rockit Toowoomba comp, with more info and a few Piccies.
Cheers!

Yeah it's a pretty great comp. these are from lay round. Being a social comp, based on points rated than time, you can do it without breaking anything.

Not that I know of mate. All of the rockit comps are held at janowen. The ironman driving challenge is on again out at springs4x4 park in a few weeks. (Can't make that unfortunately) Logan 3 car challenge is on at janowen the first weekend of September (I have a team for that)
That's all the comps I know of, sorry.
Cheers!

Well anyway, back from a great weekend. Placed 6th in locked class, after a terrible first couple of tracks. The rest were all right.
Was a great time as always, highlights included the nighttime rally stage (not part of the comp, just a bunch of us practising for Logan challenge/having fun)
Round 3 is 22-23 October.
Hope to see a few of you out there then.
Cheers!
